Calm before the storm {Stylized Session}

The day of this shoot started about beautiful, I was ex-tactic about the beautiful blue skies. But....when it came time for the fun session I had planned for Katie, the storm clouds were rolling in. So when we got to out location I jumped out of the truck, and said, "we are going to do this as fast as we can"....and we did! I pulled everything out of the back of the truck, and placed them so we could go from station to station.

This is what happened before the storm rolled in with a roar.....

This photo will make me smile every time...Katie is laughing at my boyfriend being silly :)

Katie rocked my new couch!

One of my favorites from the day!

A huge thanks to Katie for coming out, and dealing with the wind, and on coming storm.

This is also the debut of my editing style! I found it while editing this session, I wanted something that stood out but still stayed natural. I like what I see, and the softness of the skin was achieved without skin smoothing.

Please let me know what you think of my editing style, and leave comments for the beautiful Katie, let her know how great she did!

Mr & Mrs Hedtke {Classic Love}

This had to be the best wedding to do for my first solo! I'm not going to lie my nerves were running wild, but this wonderful couple and their families were so warm and extremely happy they made it easy. This day was made beautiful by the everyone, because the weather wasn't so beautiful. But no one seemed to mind the sprinkling, they were just so happy to be there for their special day.

Despite the wind and rain, Chad and Nichole got married underneath the family apple tree. They were surrounded by close family. Nichole's best friend Amy walked her down to the isle, as Chad looked on with a glowing smile. He looked down at little Brandon, and they shared a bonding smile.

Instead of just the bride and groom just lighting their unity candle, the families lit a unity candle also. Signifying the unity of two families.

I loved how closely this little guy watched.

Chad held his beautiful bride tight while wonderful words are spoken.

Nichole was wearing cowgirl boots too!

These photos are why I loved this wedding so much!

They wanted an American Gothic portrait.....

...Nichole had a hard time not smiling :)

Her flowers were just gorgeous!

The rings....swoon!

During their first dance, I couldn't stop smiling! They were so happy, and in love!

Thank you so much for letting me be part of your day! My face literally hurt for 2 days from smiling and laughing so much with your family! I am wishing you lots of love for many years to come!

ps....I encourage comments for this post, this was my 1st solo wedding and couldn't have been happier!

Out of Town for the Weekend

I will be taking a well needed 4 day weekend with my boyfriend Justin! We are headed to door county, and relaxing on the bay in a sweet little cottage. We will be without internet so emails will have to wait until Tuesday evening.

While I am gone though along with relaxing I will be working on a few blog posts! Also, I will be working on my price changes. I will be having different packages/stages. I want to be able to help everyone out that wants quality photos, but on their budget. Everyone deserves beautiful photos on their special day, even if you have a smaller budget. I know I know I shouldn't be working while on vacation, but for those who know me well, or have worked with me know that I am a workaholic. Comes from being a farmers daughter, you just feel the need to work all the time, but it's something that I love so I gotta keep it going if I want to make as a professional photog.

Photo taken by my camera on timer.....sorry about the blurriness.

So Justin and I are saying farewell for the weekend, and hoping that the rain stays away, and you all have a wonderful weekend. And to all you Mother's out there have a wonderful Mother's Day!

I will be returning phone calls and emails or such Tuesday evening when I return, and after a day back to work. :)

Beautiful Samantha

An "old" friend of mine from high school volunteered to be my model for me, and of course I said YES! Sam is one beautiful girl, you will hear me say this lots! I've known her since high school, we were never very close, but older sister and I were really close my senior year of high school. But for this shoot it was mainly practice for how to pose seniors, and to show people who watch my page that I am able to do senior shots.

Sam was a brave girl because the day we had scheduled to shoot was a windy 50 degree day. And she climbed a sleep rocky hill in heel boots! Have I said she Rocks yet? Well she does!

Putting a chair on a railroad tracks might seem weird but I love the look of it.

Sam showed me these rad/beautiful shoes she bought for her sisters wedding. I had to get the beautiful against the rugged tracks.

Her nails and ring were super rad too! ( I talk like I was in the 80's but it's the best words to describe such things! )

While my sister and I drove around to look for locations on this chilly day we found an awesome red door on a local church.

Sam has such a great smile...especially when she's laughing at something dumb Justin (my boyfriend) did :)

There are only a few shots that are favorites of mine, and one is of eyes! Her eyes are a beautiful hazel, and I just wanted to capture them on photo.

I still can't believe how brave Sam was with these next ones! She was out in 50 degree weather in shorts, heels, and a T-shirt!

Thank you Sam for spending this chilly afternoon with us! I know how much that hot chocolate at the end meant to ya...hehe. You are beautiful, and if you'll let me again we should have another fun session but on a MUCH warmer day!
